These images are from two visits with a volunteer foster family, tracking the progress of one retired greyhound "Ella," who never actually saw a racetrack, retired before even before given a chance. Her foster family renamed her "Bella," a name more suited to her haunting gaze.

Eleven greyhounds rescued from one of many tracks across the country that are in the process of winding down for good. Almost a year ago, these dogs needed homes. A home for each was the happy resolution for this group. Another batch of rescues are waiting for homes, and another after that are queued for rescue. Does their future include you?
